Susan Ginouves
Still River, MA.
I have always loved barns and I have been painting them ever since middle school. I've always wanted to create a book of barns. And although I am not presenting a book to you now, I am presenting my first series of paintings from our historic town of Harvard, MA.
Living in our rural town now for several years, I have spotted many old barns that have interesting stories to tell us. I have captured these images from the roadside in order to preserve these wonderful storytellers.
The influence in my paintings has always been Andrew Wyeth (and his son Jamie). I have always loved their way of subject and fine work in detail.
When I studied at the Museum of Fines Arts, back in 1980, I was told by my professor's to "STOP the detail....pick up a bigger brush"!
I have learned that I LIKE detail; always have and always will.
